Here comes the judge!

Padma with our two K9s, Malty & Rover

We took an early-morning drive to the Bay to meet Johan and Angelica, our Cottage guests from last Christmas. On their last night here, they had gone into town for dinner and a bottle of bubbly. Driving across the bridge on their way back to "Riverbend", they had been stopped by the police who breathalysed Johan and found him wanting --- wanting in sobriety, that is!

They were back in town for his court appearance and we were there to offer moral support. Mind you, I didn't want to open my mouth too much as the local paddy wagon had my name written all over it.

The magistrate let him off with a stern warning not to have any more "Dutch courage" for the next twelve months. How did he know you were Dutch, Johan? Did the wooden shoes give you away?

Anyway, Johan, next time stop drinking the moment you are unable to pronounce the word 'succinct'. I can't be any more succinct than that.
