"There is no present like the time"

We went to see the "The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" which is about as original as its title. There wasn't anything terribly surprising about the first film, and fans presumably don't want to be surprised at this one, so what they got before, they get again.

Dench still resists the stammering courtship of Bill Nighy. Celia Imrie still ogles every passing pair of pants, this time including those on silver-fox Richard Gere. And Dev Patel is still Mr. Malapropping his way through a part designed to make his elders appear fonts of wisdom.

The only memorable line I took away was that bit of quasi-Spoonerism in the header. It makes you chuckle and then choke on your popcorn. I had my reservations; the second-best Exotic Marigold Hotel has just confirmed them.
